Mandalay-India direct express bus service to start in April

Passenger express buses will be operated directly from Mandalay, Myanmar to Imphal, India, according to the Myanmar side operator.

“We will leave Mandalay on April 7 for a total of 14 hours. It will be a direct reciprocal flight from Imphal to Mandalay on April 8, ”said Nay Lin Oo, managing director of the Shwe Mandalay Express Line on the Burmese side.

Nay Lin Oo added that the operation of Mandalay Infra Airlines was started in 2018 and the two operators signed an MoU on February 14, 2020 at the Indian Consulate in Mandalay.

The reciprocal operation of the two countries’ routes will boost the tourism sector and facilitate travel between the two countries, as well as pilgrimage and healthcare services.

The MoU was signed in front of the Indian Consulate in Mandalay in front of the Indian Consulate General Mr Nandan Singh Bhaisora.

There are 69 Bailey Bridges between Sagaing Kalewa and Tamu on the Burmese side, all of which were built during World War II and are being repaired by the Indian side.

7 Sister Co, Ltd, which will operate the bus service to Myanmar from the Indian side, connects seven states in India, making it convenient for those who want to visit.
