Yangon. March 16

Nyi Nyi Tun Lwin, chairman of the Myanmar Film Association, said that all cinemas across Myanmar have been temporarily closed from March 16 until the end of April to prevent CPVID-19.

“The Ministry of Information has also sent instructions to the Myanmar Film Association,” said Nyi Nyi Tun Lwin.

“Today, when the Ministry of Information issued a directive, the cinemas were closed. The Mingalar cinema group showed a show at 10:30 this morning. Later, the cinemas were closed. All the cinemas were closed all over the country.

“On Thursday, rumors began circulating at City Marts that people were buying rice and food. On Fridays, the theaters were empty and the producers did not want to show off their cars. The theaters were empty.”

“But at that time, the theaters did not dare to close. They were still showing on Saturdays and Sundays. They were closed until the end of April, according to a directive issued by the President’s Office, because of a virus.”

“The producers are happy too. It hurts the owners because it will pay their staff for a month and a half. We support the closure,” said Nyi Nyi Tun Lwin, chairman of the Myanmar Film Association.

Nyi Nyi Tun Lwin also said that due to the closure of theaters, arrangements will be made for the release of films that have been scheduled for release as soon as the cinemas reopen.
